A police officer has been taken hospital after being stabbed while arresting a wanted man.
The man aged 26 was arrested for wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and possession of a bladed instrument.
The police officer has been hospitalised after being stabbed in the leg as he attempted to arrest a wanted man.
The man was located at an address in Bolton, Manchester at around 5.40pm on Tuesday.
As officers arrested the man he stabbed of them in the leg.
The officer was taken to hospital for treatment and remains there in a stable condition.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “At around 5,40pm on Tuesday 15 November 2022, officers located a wanted man outside an address on The Crescent, Westhoughton.
“During the arrest, a police officer received a stab wound to the leg and was taken to hospital for medical treatment.
“He remains in a stable condition.
The 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of section 18 wounding and possession of a bladed instrument.
“He was further arrested in custody for two common assaults and remains in custody.
