A police officer has been killed and another injured following a knife attack in Brussels.
The officers were both taken to hospital after they were attacked close to Brussels Northern Railway station.
It is believed that the attacker has died in Hospital after he was shot at the scene. The motive is currently unknown.
A cordon is now in place and an investigation has been launched.
The officers had been on a routine patrol within the area at the time of the attack.
Police said another patrol arrived at the scene and “neutralised” the attacker; he was shot in the legs and abdomen before being taken to hospital.
