Boy running away from fireworks dies in tragic circumstances

The boy died after he jumped the fence and then suffered fatal injuries after smashing into someone’s greenhouse.

Sadly the teenager who has been named locally as 17 year-old Qais Muhammad died after being found with injuries near to where the fireworks had been hurled down the street.

The boy was found within the Garden of a property in Halifax, West Yorkshire, shorty after 8pm on Saturday.

Tragically after being taken to hospital the boy died a short time later.

Yorkshire Live reported that a teenager had jumped a fence and crashed into a greenhouse after “night of chaos and tragedy” on Vickerman Street, as police officers came under attack by large group who hurled fireworks towards them.

An eyewitness told the local news outlet that fireworks were being “hurled” within the the street at the same time the teenager was found injured and described the incident as “horrendous”.

West Yorkshire Police has referred itself to the policing watch dog over the incident after officers had been called to the street because of the fireworks being set off.

“Police were contacted by the ambulance service shortly before 8:15pm on Saturday evening following reports of an injured male in the garden of a property..

“The 17-year-old male was taken to hospital where, sadly, he died of his injuries. A scene is currently on in the area as officers establish the full facts of what has happened.”
