Police come across deadly fire on routine patrol

Two people have been confirmed dead following a west London Fire in Heston.

More than 58 firefighters attended the scene which saw three people jumping to safety from the flat fire which was ripping through their flats.

The fire was above a shop in New Heston Road in the London Borough of Hounslow at 1.40am.

Three people jumped from the second floor of the blazing building one of those was confirmed dead in the street.

A further two men aged 18 and 37 are are being treated at hospital to multiple injuries at St Mary's Hospital in central London.

Armed man tasered by police

A man who held his two-year-old twin daughters during an armed siege has been arrested, Thames Valley Police revealed.

The 38-year-old, who was believed to be in possession of a firearm, was Tasered by armed officers before he was detained at a flat in Morton Avenue, Kidlington, Oxfordshire.

April Jones child Killer slashed in prison

The man convicted of the murder of school girl April Jones has been target in prison.

Mark Bridger aged 47 has been attacked by another prison inmate at HMP Wakefield in West Yorkshire.

Bridger the child killer is just 2 months in to his life sentence.

his face was slashed and he was taken to a local hospital for stitches.

Prison officers are believed to have stepped in to prevent further injury.

Heavily armed man frees his young daughters

A heavily armed man has freed his two young daughters after a stand off with police that started over 12 hours ago.

Police where alerted to the situation when the girls mother escaped the address in Kidlington to alert the Police.

The man who is still hauled up heavily armed at the address is surrounded by armed police and over 50 police officers who have sealed the area off.

Thames Valley Police have said they have regular communication with the man inside the property who is believed to be heavily armed.

The incident is a result of a domestic related incident that was ongoing at the address.

Police have warned local people to stay away from the area for their own safey.

Pair named in A19 motorbike and lorry crash

Police have named two young people who died on the A19 at the weekend when their motorbike collided with a lorry

The crash between the Iveco articulated lorry and the Yamaha off road motorbike happened at around 2.50am on the northbound carriageway of the A19 just south of Hawthorn services, on Saturday.

The motorbike rider and pillion passenger were confirmed dead at the scene and have yet to be formally identified but are believed to be 21-year-old Alexander James Mackenzie from Newlands Road, in Seaham, and 21-year-old Angela Bate, from Wycliffe Road in Seaham. A formal identification is expected to take place later this week.

Baby left in hot car dies

The mother of an eight-month-old baby who died after being left behind in a hot car has been charged with child neglect.

Church staff attacked during service

Two Church of England staff have been while taking part in a church service.

The service was attended by archbishops of Canterbury and York.

Following the incident a man has been arrested on suspicion of assault. He was restrained just yards from Archbishop of Canterbury the Most Rev Justin Welby and the Archbishop of York Dr John Sentamu.
