Cleveland Police arrested a woman in her 60s after allegedly mounting the pavement and driving at children as they made their way from school in Guisborough yesterday on afternoon.
Members of public had reported the female, who has been reported to have been wearing a red mask, for driving erratically on several occasions over the past few days.
We would advise parents/carers in #Guisborough that after reports of a driver following children after school, a woman was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and on susp of public order. She remains in custody.

She remains in custody and is being questioned, Cleveland Police have reassured parent that their children should attend school as usual in the morning.
Woman arrested after reports from parents, Guisborough.
Cleveland Police have released a statement confirming they are away of the incident “Police are aware of discussions on social media about a driver allegedly following children who were making their way home from school in Guisborough on Tuesday.”
“A number of parents/carers had contacted police late that afternoon, making similar reports about the behaviour of the female driver.”
“Officers gave initial safeguarding advice while enquiries began, and a woman in her late 60s was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and on suspicion of a public order offence.”
“She remains in custody being questioned and we would reassure parents and carers that their children and young people should attend school as usual in the morning.”
Cleveland Police have confirmed that Enquiries are on-going.
