Met Police: Boy, 15, charged with terrorism offences

Met Police have confirmed a 15-year-old boy has been charged with two offences under Section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006.

The boy was arrested by the Met Police Counter Terrorism Command.

He was charged on 13 March with the two offences.

He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

The boy was arrested and detained under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000 on 7 March after officers attended an address in St Albans, Hertfordshire.

A warrant of further detention was later obtained at Westminster Magistrates’ Court which allowed police to detain the boy until 14 March.
