The Metropolitan Police have today announced they have launched an investigation into the parties held in No 10 during the coronavirus pandemic.

Commissioner Cressida Dick said they are now looking into “potential breaches of Covid-19 regulations” after initially failing to investigate.

The investigation will be centered around a number of parties that occurred within Downing Street and Whitehall.

The police investigation will legally mean that the Cabinet Office inquiry led by civil servant Sue Gray can not be publically released until the police have concluded their investigation.
