Emergency services were called to the fire at 1030 on Saturday evening.
It’s believed no one was hurt in the incident because no one has lived at the house for a number of years.
Police officers put local road closures in place along Burbank Street & Clark Street while firefighters were dealing with the blaze in the roof of the disused house.

Local residents have said that the property has been subjected to vandalism and regularly had windows smashed while it stood empty.
Fire fighters used hose reals on the front and back of the property.

3 appliances including the Combined Aerial Rescue Pump are in attendance along with a number of police units who supported with local road closures.

Cleveland Police have not yet released a comment in relation to the incident.
