Emergency Services have been seen within Seaham Train Station car park.

Grand Central service has tweeted that “Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident at Seaham the 16:48 London Kings Cross- Sunderland service will terminate at Seaham.
“Road transport is being sourced to take passengers onto Sunderland.”

The emergency services are currently dealing with an ‘incident’ between Newcastle and Middlesbrough.
It is believed this has happened near Seaham train station. To allow them to do their work safely, some lines are blocked.
Trains between Newcastle and Middlesbrough may be cancelled or diverted via an alternative route meaning services may be unable to call at stations between Newcastle and Thornaby.
Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
