Omicron Variant: All close contacts of a positive case must self-isolate regardless of vaccination

Covid rules will be changing within England relating to those who test positive for the Omicron Variant of Covid.

Boris Johnson has said that all people who come into close contact with anyone who tests positive for coronavirus with the new Omicron variant will be required to self-isolate regardless of their vaccinations status.

Boris Johnson has also outlined new measures that will come into force soon.

The first being Day two PCR tests for those international travellers saying that “We will require anyone who enters the UK to take a PCR test by the end of the second day after their arrival and to self-isolate until they have a negative result”

It’s also looking like Face-masks in shops and within an indoor setting could return as the PM said There will be a ramping up of mask wearing in shops and indoor settings.

‘Boost the booster campaign’ – health secretary asking Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation to consider giving boosters to more people and reducing the gap from second dose.
