Sarah Everard: Police Officer arrested being treated for head injury sustained in custody

The Police Officer who has been arrested over the suspected kidnap and murder of Sarah Everard is being treated in hospital for a head injury that he has sustained in custody.

He was found collapsed and unconscious in his cell after suffering serious head wounds.

The officer is currently under arrest on suspicion of kindnap and the murder of Sarah Everard.

He has been discharged from the hospital and has been returned back to the police station.

The Met Police confirmed that he was found collapsed and unconscious within his cell after suffering a serious head injury.

The Met said: “The suspect was taken to a hospital for treatment to a head injury sustained while in custody.

“He has since been discharged and returned to custody. We are not prepared to discuss further.”

On the day of Sarah dissaperence it is believed the police officer was woking from 2pm until 8pm at the US Embassy in Nine Elms, southwest London which is located three miles from where she was last spotted.

Police searching for Ms Everard discovered human remains yesterday in woodland in Kent.

The remains have not yet been identified.
