Hartlepool man named after being accused of raping and sexually assaulting a child

Hartlepool Man has today been named after being accused of raping and sexually assaulting a child.

The man has been named after his first court appearance.

David Brunt, 52 of Balcary Court, Hartlepool appeared at Teesside Crown Court where he pleaded not guilty to two charges of raping a child under 13.

He denied two further offences of sexually assaulting a child under 13, and a further three counts of making indecent photographs of a child.

The court heard how one of the charges relates to category A images – the most serious. 

The other two relate to category B and category C images.

Brunt trial will go ahead at Teesside Crown Court in Middlesbrough on January 31 next year.

He will attend another hearing before that date on June 11.

He was granted unconditional bail.
