A Hartlepool man whose baby’s ashes were stolen in a 2 in 1 burglary earlier today (Saturday 26th December) has appealed for whoever took them to return them – or at least leave them in a public place where they will be noticed, and hopefully returned to him
The burglary was discovered at around 8.30am today, when a blue Ford Fiesta was stolen from a house in Eskdale Court in Hartlepool.
It was discovered a short distance away in Eskdale Road, having collided with a property’s garden wall but when the vehicle was checked, the gun metal grey safe containing the ashes was not in the car.
The child passed away just a few months ago and we are joining the householder in urgently appealing for information which could lead to the return of the ashes to him.
You can contact police with information, or leave the safe at any police office, bus stop or other public place where it will easily be seen.
Anyone else with information on the burglary or the theft of the car is asked to contact Cleveland Police via the 101 number, quoting Ref 209031.
If you don’t want to speak to police, please consider passing information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org or by phoning 0800 555 111.
