A Hartlepool school has today issued a warning to parents after it is alleged that a car stopped and tried to pull the former students inside.
Police received reports of the incident which is now under investigation.
The incident is believed happened on the corner of Brunntoft Avenue and King Oswy Drive at around 8.21 pm.
The boys parents became aware of the incident when they ran home to let them know.
They alleged that a sliver Corsa described as having a loud exhaust pulled alongside the boys, the passenger got out and grabbed one of them.
Both boys screamed and put up a struggle causing the passenger to get back into the car and drove off.
Barnard Grove Primary School in Hartlepool posted a statement to Facebook to warn parents.
“We have been made aware that there was an incident last night involving some of our former students where a car stopped and tried to pull them inside.”
The school went on to confirm that luckily the students managed to pull themselves away.
“The children managed to pull themselves away and the police have been informed. The car was a silver Corsa with a distinctively loud exhaust. Please ensure your children are alert and vigilant if they are out and about on their own.”
Cleveland Police have not yet confirmed the incident.
