An investigation has been launched after a body was found within a Hartlepool Rugby ground.
Play for the day and training was called off after the body was discovered this morning within the stand of the grounds this morning.
It is believed when the club was being prepared for opening the grim discovery was made.
A full forensic investigation is currently underway within the Hartlepool Rovers club which is located on West View Road.
Forensic officers dressed in white forensic suits can be seen within the image bagging evidence and examining an area of interest.
A number of items were bagged by the officers and placed within brown forensic evidence bags.
Cleveland Police have not yet released details of the incident. A crime scene is expected to remain in place for some time.
The club released a statement confirming “Due to an incident the club will NOT be open today at all.
“This will include minis training and bar opening. Further information will be disclosed when permitted.”
