Together we have raised £80K in memory of SGT Matt Ratana. This is down to you our amazing readers. This will make an incredible difference.
A huge thanks to every single Police Hour reader who has supported our fundraising efforts to supported our appeal to help support the Family of Matt.
Trevor Sherwood of Police Hour Said “Behind the scene’s we have had some positive discussions with the Met Police, who have now launched their official appeal
“We are in direct contact with senior leaders within the Met Police and we will use these contacts to ensure funding is shared directly with Matt’s girlfriend”
“At the moment we have made official contact with JustGiving who will be able to advise us further on merging the page with the official appeal.
“Until that has happened we’ll be keeping the Police Hour readers appeal open as to not find any kind donations going astray from all the shares across social media”
“I’d personally like to say a huge thanks to every single member of the Police Hour community you have made me proud.”
“Together we have proven that the public do support the police and when the public support is needed like the police family the extended police family the supporters of policing come together and support each other”
“I cannot thank everyone enough whether you have shared the appeal, liked it or donated it really means a lot and often the most incredible donations are the smallest donations as they make the biggest difference”
“Often people who do not have much money support these appeals by simply sharing and being honest with you that can make the biggest difference if you’d love to support the appeal but do not have the money because you could share it to your network whereby someone within it can afford to make a donation”.
“I launched the readers appeal as a way of showing our collective appreciation and support from the Police Hour readers, I have done nothing apart from simply facilitate, I have received many thanks but it is you the readers who deserve the credit and thanks”.
“In the same sense, that police officers behind the scenes will donate the proceeds of their CID tuck shops and doing the rounds to collect for Matt and his family.
“As a Policing media group we want to be able to do the little bit we wanted to raise £1.5K but together we have raised £80K.
“I personally never expected the JustGiving page to raise so much but that is purely down to the thanks of our readers who have really shown how much they support the police.”
“I do not want to undermine any official fundraising efforts and now one has been launched as soon as the pages have been merged our efforts will be completed”
“So simply thank you”
