Not everyone likes the police some of you hate them. But we know one thing if you are in danger they will come and help you.

One police officer ran after a murdering and armed terrorist with very little thought for his own safety.

He did think not of himself. He thought of protecting me and you.

The Police Sergeant chased down and rugby tackled the suspected terrorist who moments before had stabbed three people to death in a park in Reading.

He was stopped by a lone police sergeant who charged at him after being alerted to the incident.

Three others were left seriously injured but if it was not for the actions of this incredible and brave officers things could have been much worse.

He floored and arrested Khairi Saadallah aged 25 who came to the UK from Libya and made Reading his home.

Footage of the aftermath of the attack was released onto social media which showed members of the public and police officers attempting to save the lives of those who had been injured.

Thames Valley Police chairman Craig O’Leary said today: ‘First and foremost our thoughts are with the families of those who lost loved ones in the horrific incident last night and we wish our very best to those still injured.

‘There can be no doubt that the swift response of our Thames Valley Police colleagues saved further harm from being caused and potentially more lives from being lost.

‘There are barely words to describe their bravery – officers who ran towards danger with the sole thought of protecting the public we serve. Other colleagues valiantly rushed to the scene to try and save and preserve life.

‘While the investigation into this incident continues, what we can say is the public can rightly be proud of their emergency services today.’
