Detectives are appealing for information after a man’s body was found in an area next to Wiltshire Way in Hartlepool on Monday (May 18).

The man has been named as Ryan Magee, 22, and today his family have paid tribute to him.

“Ryan was a loved son and brother, grandson and nephew. We are devastated by his death.

“Ryan was the eldest in the family and the only boy. He was always protective towards his sisters and mum and known for being cheeky. Sleep tight Ryan now you’re reunited with little nana, granda and Michael.

“We are heartbroken thinking about what has happened to him and would appeal to anyone with any information to contact police.”

Police are carrying out enquiries into the circumstances surrounding Ryan’s death and are appealing for information from anyone with sightings or dealings with him between Wednesday May 13 and Monday May 18.

Anyone who can assist is asked to call 101, reference 079613.
