A Number 10 spokesman says: “The prime minister has been moved this evening from intensive care back to the ward, where he will receive close monitoring during the early phase of his recovery.

“He is in extremely good spirits.”

The Prime Minister was admitted to St Thomas’s Hospital on Sunday night where his condition worsened.

He was later moved to intensive care on Monday where he was placed on Oxygen treatment.
