A man has this afternoon been shot dead by police in south London, in what police are now treating as a “Terror related incident”.

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that several people have been stabbed during the incident one of those seriously injured at Stratham High Road.

Armed police are believed to have fired three shots bringing the terror incident to an end. Eyewitnesses have said that the terror suspect had a metal canister attached to his chest and was carrying a machete.

Police have confirmed only two people have been injured one of those people are believed to have been seriously injured.

A Metropolitan Police statement said: “A man has been shot by armed officers in Streatham. At this stage, it is believed a number of people have been stabbed.
“The circumstances are being assessed; the incident has been declared as terrorist-related.”
