A Hartlepool school was this afternoon placed in lockdown after reports of a man carrying a knife outside the Primary School.
Officers quickly responded to the incident outside of Lynnfield Primary School.
Doors to the school were locked and Children kept indoors at Lynnfield Primary School while officers searched for and located the suspect.
During the incident, there was no risk to any children or school teachers.
Police Officers then arrested a 34-year-old man on Murray Street area of Hartlepool.
Cleveland Police confirmed details of the incident “Police received a report of man possibly in the possession of a knife at 11.10am on Grosvenor Street.
“Officers attended the scene and a man, 34, was arrested on suspicion of affray.
“He has been taken into police custody and enquiries are ongoing.”
