Police arrest royal protection officer over allegation of rape and stalking

A Police Officer with the Royal Protection unit has been arrested on suspicion of rape and stalking.

The Met Police Inspector was arrested on August 22nd by Officers from Sussex Police and has returned to work but has been placed on restricted duties while the investigation progresses.

Police have made it very clear that the allegations have no relation to his current role as a royal and specialist protection command officer.

The Met police are not leading the investigation which is being lead by Sussex Police

A mandatory referral was made to the police watchdog, the Independent Office for Police Conduct, which decided the force’s internal standards department should carry out its own investigation into the claims.
