Police searching for missing Emma Faulds have found human remains in the search for the youth worker from Kilmarnock.

39-year-old, Emma Faulds was last seen at Fairfield Park in Monkton, Ayrshire, on Sunday 28 April. 

Police searching for Ms Faulds say the remains were discovered 12 June in the Galloway Forest.

A man has been charged with her murder and remanded in custody.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “On Wednesday, human remains were discovered in the Galloway Forest, Dumfries and Galloway.

“The family of Emma Faulds has been made aware.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
