Police in Maidenhead, Berkshire have launched an appeal after a young man was found in a distressed state in a public park.
Thames Valley Police say the man was found in a distressed state in Grenfell Park and had been raped.
The man was found at 3.33am on Saturday by a member of the public. The offender is also believed to have stolen the victim’s phone.
The man in his 20s told a member of the public he had been raped in the park near the basketball court.
Detective chief inspector Penny Mackenzie said: “This is an extremely serious offence and a thorough investigation is under way.
“We believe the victim was in Gordon’s bar in Queen Street, Maidenhead, last night or the early hours of this morning, where he met a man.
“The victim and the man then left the bar and walked through Grenfell Park.
“The victim was then raped by a man near the basketball court in the park.
