Police are appealing for information after a robbery occurred at McColl’s on Stockton High Street.

 The incident occurred this morning, Thursday 13th June at 7:40am when a man walked into the premises, demanded money and assaulted the woman in the shop.

As a result of the assault, the 23-year-old victim has suffered bruising to her ribs and is shaken from the incident. 

The man responsible is described as being a black male and he was wearing a balaclava, black joggers, a baseball style jumper, a flat cap and blue trainers. He was also carrying a dark brown/ red umbrella. 

Following the incident the man left the shop and has taken up to £80 worth of cash.
