A man has today been charged following an armed robbery at a McDonald’s store in Hartlepool.

Cleveland Police responded to reports on an ongoing armed robbery at 12.38am within McDonald’s on Marina Way in Hartlepool

Police arrested a 36-year-old man in connection with the incident who has now been charged.

The 36-year-old has been charged with robbery, possession of an imitation firearm and possession of an imitation firearm with the intent to cause fear of violence.

The man has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at crown court on Friday, June 7.
