Today a team of cops have made the dreams of a 104-year-old gran come true.
It was her greatest wish to be arrested, having never had a brush with the law in her life.
At the age of 104 Anne Brokenbrow has never been in trouble with the law, but wanted to be arrested but wanted to know what it would be like.
With the help of a local team of PCSO’s Anne’s greatest wish came true helping her tick this one off the bucket list.
She was arrested on offences of being an upstanding citizen and taken into police custody by a police car on blue lights.
Anne admitted that she had enjoyed a lovely day “I had a lovely day it was interesting. Nothing like that ever happened to me before. They put the handcuffs on, I had the lot.
“What did it feel like being a criminal? Well it will make me much more careful of what I say and do. But the police were very nice throughout.”
“I’ve got grandchildren, all fit and well – I hear a lot from them and see them quite often.”
Anne who has dementia really want to experience what it was like to be arrested.
She has been living in a home now for 10 months and really does support the work of the police.
We are sure from now on Anne will be continuing her criminal life as an upstanding member of the community.
Hats of to Avon & Somerset Police for making Anne’s dream come true.
Because we know everyone involved in today’s arrest especially Anne will remember this special moment for the rest of her life and it does truly show the human side of policing and honours the good work our officers do.
Fantastic community engagement.
