Connor Brown sadly never returned from a night out with his friends in Sunderland City Centre when he was stabbed, Officers have now launched a murder investigation.

Connor was a popular local lad who was well liked, He loved his football team Sunderland and his boxing.

His family, friends and colleagues have flooded social media with tributes to the popular teenager, they also arranged flowers and balloons which have been left on a bench close to the scene on Park Lane.

Now police are appealing to anyone who may have been in the area when Connor was fatally injured,

Connor was aged just 18 when he tragically lost his life, which police are treating as murder.

An area between The Borough pub and Gatsby’s on Vine Place was corned off while forensic officers carried out an investigation.

It is believed the area is covered by CCTV cameras from the local bars, which police are examining.

Police arrested a man on the scene who is currently helping police with their inquiries.

Senior investigating officer, Detective Chief Inspector John Bent, said: “One person remains in custody, but we do need anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have information to get in touch with Northumbria Police.

“We would encourage anyone who saw anything, was in the area at the time of the incident or thinks they saw anything suspicious, to get in touch via 101,quoting log 124 24/02/19 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
