Police arrest a staggering 39 people overnight in Hammersmith following stabbing

Police have arrested 39 people on suspicion of attempted murder after one man was stabbed.

It could possibly me the most people ever arrested in connection with a stabbing within such a short space of time.

All those arrested will have to be processed via police custody be photographed, have prints and DNA taken before being interviewed under caution.

Once all evidence is gathered it’ll be passed to CPS to make a decision on charging, released on bail or no further action to be taken.

A section of Fulham Palace Road remains closed off by police on Monday morning (New Year’s Eve, December 31) following the incident overnight.

Metropolitan Police were called to the road following reports of the stabbing at 1am.

Officers found a man, who they believe to be in his 30s, suffering from a serious stab wound.

He was rushed to hospital where his injuries have been judged to be life-threatening.

Unusually police have arrested a total of 39 people “at a property near the scene” on suspicion of attempted murder.

All of them have been taken into custody by police and are currently being questioned, while a cordon remains in place on Fulham Palace Road between Nella Road and Ellaine Road.
