Emergency services are on the scene of a serious incident after a young person was knocked down by a bus in Hartlepool.
The girls leg became trapped under the wheel of a bus and was in a great deal of pain, she now believed to be in a stable condition.
The incident happened on Catcate Road nearby to Rossmere Primary School. the girl was in serious condition but now a family member has told Police Hour the situation is not as serious as they first believed.
Telling Police Hour she is in a good way, well as best having just been hit but a bus and getting trapped underneath it, she is in a lot of pain but she isn’t life threatening.
An Air Ambulance, fire crews, police and paramedics scrambled to the scene, which is now closed while collision investigators carry out a full investigation.
An eyewitness who does not wish to be named has told Police Hour that as she was walking past a girl was hit by a bus and that she ended up underneath the bus. She wishes that the girl has a speedy recovery. But it looks serious.
Cleveland Police have confirmed they have closed the road to traffic “Police are attending a serious road traffic collision in Catcote Road, Hartlepool. Please be advised the road will be closed for some time and motorists are advised to use alternative routes.”
Those people looking to catch buses his evening are advised that the number 6 and 36 will be diverted via Owton Manor Lane onto Kilmarnock Road and join Wynyard Road.

A spokeswoman for the North East Ambulance Service has told Police Hour that they had dispatched one paramedic and a double-crewed ambulance to the scene, They requested the support of the Air Ambulance and had transported one patient to James Cook University Hospital.
