A teenager is believed to have been stabbed in Hartlepool after what is described as an ongoing incident.

Police have not yet confirmed the age of the victim have have described her as a woman.

A crime scene and road closure is currently in place on Oxford Road Hartlepool.

An Ambulance remains in place in the centre of the crime scene almost 2 and a half hours after the incident.

Police were called to reports of violence just before 10pm on Oxford Road in Hartlepool.

Police and Paramedics remain on the scene Eyewitnesses have told Police Hour that unnamed teenager was stabbed.

Police have not yet confirmed if a stabbing has taken place, what is known is this is a major policing incident which already has members of CID on scene alongside uniformed units.

Local shop owners have said they rushed out of their businesses to the sound of screaming and quickly alerted the police.

A large group of youths could be seen shortly before police arrived.

A crime scene is currently in place on Oxford Road Hartlepool.

Cleveland Police have declined to comment on the nature of the incident.

Oxford Road is expected to be closed for a number of hours.
