Police release statement confirming Hartlepool Murder

A murder investigation has been launched after a woman was found dead next to a play park in Hartlepool.

Local residents have speculated this could be a teenage girl, they say she was stabbed to death. Police have now confirmed this is an adult woman.

A video of appeared on social media showing the aftermath of the attack claiming a 15-year-old had been stabbed police say this was an adult woman.

This very tragic incident happened near to a play park and behind a bus stop on Oxford Road Hartlepool.

Eyewitnesses say a local teenager who we have chosen not to name has been stabbed to death. But police have now confirmed it is an adult woman.

Forensic officers are now conducting a forensic examination and have placed a blue forensic tent at the scene, over the spot the stabbing took place.

An ambulance remains on the scene with it’s doors open and blue-lights flashing. This is the brutal scene of a murder.

A murder that happened within yards of a children’s play area.

A murder that will shock the community.

Crime scene officers are conducting a forensic examination.

A crime scene and road closure is currently in place on Oxford Road Hartlepool.

An Ambulance remains in place in the centre of the crime scene almost 2 and a half hours after the incident.

Police were called to reports of violence just before 10pm on Oxford Road in Hartlepool.

Police and Paramedics remain on the scene.

It is now believed Cleveland Police are treating the incident as murder.

Police have not yet confirmed if a stabbing has taken place, what is known is this is a major policing incident which already has members of CID on scene alongside uniformed units.

Local shop owners have said they rushed out of their businesses to the sound of screaming and quickly alerted the police.

A young girl was laid on the floor she had just been stabbed.

A large group of youths could be seen shortly before police arrived.

A crime scene is currently in place on Oxford Road Hartlepool.

Cleveland Police have released a statement “Police are at the scene of an ongoing incident in Hartlepool.

“Officers were called to Oxford Road in the town just after 9pm on Friday 3rd August where a woman was found with serious injuries.

She was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

“Enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances of the incident and the road is expected to remain closed for some time.

“Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101.

Police are urgently appealing to trace 44-year-old Elizabeth Foster who was last seen in the Winterbottom Avenue area of Hartlepool today, Sunday 19th August at 12:30pm.

Elizabeth is described as being of slim build, around 5 ft 3” tall with mousey coloured hair and she was last seen wearing a black coat, black leggings and rose gold glittery sandals.

Anyone who may have seen Elizabeth or may know of her whereabouts is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101.

Man aged 67 left with broken ankle and rib after Hartlepool Street Attack

67 Year Old Man Assaulted on Murray Street in Hartlepool

Police are appealing for information after a 67-year-old man was assaulted on Murray Street (outside of the Chinese takeaway shop) in Hartlepool.

The incident occurred on Monday 13th August at around 5pm when the victim was approached by two males who punched and kicked him.

As a result of the assault the victim was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees where he was treated for a broken ankle and a broken rib.

Both of the men believed to be responsible are described as being white males in their early 20s.

Tragic Girl aged nine died following North Yorkshire Rock Fall

A girl aged nine has sadly died after suffering serious head injuries in a rock fall on a beach in North Yorkshire.

Emergency services responded to the horrific incident just after 4.45pm following reports a girl has been hurt.

Despite frantic efforts by emergency service workers she sadly died at the scene.

North Yorkshire Police have confirmed the sad news and have also said they are supporting the family at this difficult time.

Police, Fire, Ambulance, Air Ambulance and the Coastguard all worked together to attempt to save the girls life.
