Police have warned parents after a third reported incident of a fair-haired man approaching school children in Hartlepool and offering them lifts.

Police Hour reported the incident at West View Primary School in Hartlepool which warned Hartlepool Parents to be vigilant after an attempted child snatch.

There have also been a number or reported similar incidents on the Headland in Hartlepool over the past 4 weeks.

Now children at Manor Community Academy in Hartlepool have reported being approached by a man in a White Van.

Police have not linked the incidents but are warning parents to be vigilant.

The warning has been issued after school children walking to school alone are being offered lifts to school.

A post was shared on the secondary school’s Facebook page on Wednesday.

It read: “It has come to our attention that a fair-haired male, driving a white van, may be in the area asking children if they would like a lift.

“We have no further details but urge you to be vigilant and report any concerns directly to the police or to Mrs Cumming at Manor Community Academy.”

Two weeks ago a girl was aged just 9 when she was followed on her way to school.

Parents are being urged to be vigilant after police received reports of an attempted child abduction in Hartlepool.

The latest incident happened on Davison Drive near West View Primary School.

As the girl aged 9 walked the short distance to school she noticed a van in the corner of her eye slowly crawling behind her.

Upon seeing the van she instantly panicked and began running to school, the van then speed up to catch her.

She suddenly stopped to fasten her lace and the van stopped next to her. The girl turned back in the direction she came from and headed back to Warren Road.

The van sung round and followed her all the way back to the Traffic lights were the van made off in an unknown direction.

The description of the male is not known as the girl only focused on the van and feared for her life as she ran home in tears.

West View Primary School in Hartlepool messages all parents and sent a letter home warning children to either be picked up by parents or walk in groups of two.

There have also been a number of reported similar incidents in the West View area.

No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.

If you spot anyone acting suspiciously please alert the police immediately by calling 999.
