Police have launched a man hunt after a woman and baby were stabbed in west London on Monday evening.

The two victims are in hospital in a serious but stable condition, police said.

Police and paramedics were called to Swinfield Close in Hanworth, in the London Borough of Hounslow, at around 7.12pm following a report concerning residents’ safety.

At the scene they found a woman and infant suffering knife wounds. The pair were rushed to hospital by the Air Ambulance Service.

The Met said that a crime scene has been established and officers remain in place.
