Police are appealing for information after a serious assault occurred outside of Soho bar on Albert Road in Middlesbrough.

The incident occurred at 3:45am this morning, Monday 7th May.

As a result of the incident, a 17-year-old male is being treated for serious head injuries in James Cook University Hospital and is in critical condition.

Three males aged 21 and one male aged 22 have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the incident and they all currently remain in custody.

Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting event number 080484.
