The Pest From The West: Met office confirm new storm is on the way

The pest from the west is heading for the UK, Just when you thought the Beast from the East was gone the pest looks set to bring new storm weather into the UK. Well, it is supposed to be spring.

Thankfully it won’t bring snow with it or the freezing conditions we have experienced over the last seven days. But because there is a number of flood warnings in place we need to be prepared for the storm sets in.
It will, however, bring strong winds and a very unsettled weather pattern with heavy rain that are set the batter parts of the UK over the weekend.
The Met Office Have said that: ” a very unsettled period, with heavy rain, probably moving northwards across much of the UK during the weekend, followed by blustery showers across central and southern parts.

“There is the low risk of disruptive snow across some northern parts of the UK, which may give some locally significant accumulations, especially over higher ground. Into next week, and it remains unsettled, with further spells of rain, heavy at times, but interspersed with brighter and showery interludes.

“Probably the wettest and windiest conditions likely to be across the south and west. Snow is likely at times in the north, mainly on the hills.”

Winds are expected to top 60 MPH at the peak of the new storm.
