A parent has launched an appeal for parents to record the details of there parents and child on the back of their child car seat.

The appeal is hoped that if you are involved in car accident and your child is within the car and you are seriously hurt or unconscious firefighters and medical teams will be able to quickly locate details about your child.

Writing on Facebook Kaitlyn Lawson said “Way too often do firefighters come upon a car wreck with child(ren) in the car who are too young to have any info and parents are unconscious.

“It takes 2 minutes of your time to write out child’s name, DOB, parents names, DOB, emergency contacts and any medical conditions, any meds your child is on and even child’s doctor, then stick it to the child’s car seat. This helps EMS a ton and can also help save your child’s life.”

Police Hour would like to support this appeal and urge parents to leave some details about your child on the back of the car seat.

Firefighters simply knowing the name of your child in such a distressing situation could make the world a difference in such traumatic circumstances.

Medical teams and paramedics knowing your child’s details will also hurry up the speed in which they can receive the right emergency treatment and could simply save a life.
