Police have today arrested a man for allegedly attempting to bundle of an 11-year-old into the back of a car while she was walking her dog.

The girl was out with her dog in Crawley Down in West Sussex on Tuesday afternoon.

The girl was approached by a man who was in a dark-coloured vehicle, the man attempted to grab her and told her to get into the car.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: “A 35-year-old man from Crawley was arrested on suspicion of attempted child abduction.

“He remains in police custody at this stage.
“Officers are still appealing for witnesses, and anyone with any information is asked to report it online or call 101 quoting serial 176 of 02/02.”
