Two road policing officers have been left seriously injured after a pursuit on the A19.

Cops attempted to stop a vehicle whereby the occupants were suspected of being responsible for a robbery earlier in the day.

Cleveland Police say “The suspects purposefully rammed the police vehicle causing it to lose control and collide with the nearside safety barrier.

“Both officers were seriously injured in the collision and required hospital treatment.”

Other officers continued the pursuit and managed to arrest those within the vehicle in the Parkend area of Middlesbrough, they currently remain in custody.

Jason Harwin Assistant Chief Constable of Cleveland Police tweeted the two officers should be ok.

Police Hour would like to send our best wishes to those two officers for a quick recovery.
