A two-year-old boy has died after being found unresponsive in a flat with his dummy in his mouth.
He was carried out of the house in the arms of paramedics following the awful and horrific incident that happened hours before.
A spokesperson for the police has said: “An investigation is underway following the death of a two-year-old child.
“Police and paramedics were called to a property in Arthur Street, Northampton at 12.45pm today following reports of an unresponsive child who later died at Northampton General Hospital.
“A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in police custody”
This is a horrific and tragic incident and our thoughts are with all involved within this youngsters life and those emergency services that responded.
