Oxford Circus station evacuated as armed police respond to reported gunfire

Oxford Circus station in London and the surrounding area has been evacuated as police respond to reports of gunshots.

Members of the public have been advised to go into a building and stay there until further notice, after an alarm was raised at 4.38pm with reports of a number of shots fired on Oxford Street and the tube station.

It is not known if the incident is terrorist related
