Armed Police and dog units have responded to a major incident at Springfield Hotel in Middlesbrough.
A large number of police units responded to the incident at the pub in central Middlesbrough, at about 9pm on Monday.
Armed Officers entered the building after shouting “Armed Police anyone within the building show yourself now”.
A second incident is also ongoing on the A66 which occurred at 10.30pm on the westbound carriageway closed at the Cineworld turn-off

Armed Officers and police dog units where on the carriageway of the A66.
At this time it is unknown if the two incidents are connected to the incident within Borough Road.
Armed police are believed to have entered and searched the pub and hotel rooms once armed officers searched the building a police dog was entered to search the building.
Cleveland Police has declined to comment on the nature of the incident.
