A sister has launched a heartfelt appeal asking people to send her younger brother birthday cards because she fears he will not get many.
Lucy Weir explained that James her brother has autism and sadly he has ‘no friends’ despite James being 20. He is becoming really excited to celebrate his 21st Birthday but lucy fears he won’t get many cards.
She is wanting to give James a huge surprise by making her plea go viral and James getting loads of cards to mark his birthday.
Lucy aged 23 has said she simply wants to see her brother smile because of his condition he finds it hard to make friends and socialise.
Lucy said: “This is James. My not-so-baby brother and he is turning 21 on the 30th November.
“James has autism and this makes it difficult for him to make friends and socialise. He gets anxious in social situations and finds it hard to communicate effectively with others. Sadly, James has no friends and it breaks our hearts.
“So, I have come up with an idea/surprise for his birthday. I wondered if you kind folk out there will share this post and send James a birthday message or card. Even if he only got a few I know he’d be over the moon!”
She also included what to write on the envelope to make sure it gets to James, so if you want to help make his day, send your birthday wishes to:

If you’re one of those folk now totally against ‘the old ways’, you can just email a card to Lucy on [email protected] and she’ll print it off for the young man.
“I want to make his milestone birthday extra special and put a big smile on that handsome face. Thank you everybody.”
The response to the post has been already been overwhelming, with people praising Lucy for her efforts and also sending a lot of love to James.
Lucy said it breaks her heart that her brother has no friends, all he wants is friends but he does not have any.
“He is a very lonely individual because he has no friends, which is really sad.
“He will be over the moon with all this attention, I can see him smiling for days. Especially being in a newspaper as he’s always wanted to do something to go viral.”
We really do hope that James has a fantastic birthday with plenty of cards to help him celebrate.
