Parents are being urged not to let their children walk home from school alone after an attempted abduction in Gateshead

Teachers at Caedmon Primary School on Whitehall Road in Gateshead are understood to have sent a text message to the families following the incident on Wednesday.

Students are being advised to walk home in pairs or with parents.

They also posted a warning on Facebook  “Following an incident, Caedmon Primary are advising that pupils don’t walk alone to/from school. As a result, we would also advise parents to be vigilant. More information will follow.”
