Cleveland Police have issued an urgent warning in Hartlepool after two younths required medical attention.

Police say that Two youths needed medical attention this afternoon after jumping into Hartlepool Marina near the bandstand on Maritime Avenue.

The two males cut their feet and legs on glass when they jumped into the water and had to be taken to the One Life Center via Ambulance.

Can we please urge everyone not use the Marina as a swimming pool. It is very dangerous.

The sea is deceptively cold which can put your body into a state of shock, causing you to inhale water rapidly when your body meets the water.

There are also many unseen sharp and dangerous objects lying on the dirty marina floor which can cause serious injury.

It quite simply isn’t worth the risk.
