FBI arrest cyber security​ researcher who​ fixed NHS cyber attack

The FBI have today arrested a cyber security researcher who was credited with​ helping fix the global WannaCry ransomware attack which had a massive impact on the NHS.

The FBI detained Marcus Hutchins on Wednesday in Nevada, He was arrested as thousands of hackers descended on Las Vegas for the annual Black Hat and Def con security conferences.

Marcus who is based in England and is a malware researcher gain national media attention and is credited for detecting the “Kill Switch” which brought an end to the WannaCry worm in May.

The attack forced a number of NHS hospitals to close after being hit by the cyber attack which causes​ huge delays within hospital wards.
