Police arrest woman at Cumberland Infirmary in saline bags investigation

Police have this morning arrested a woman in connection with a saline bags investigation. 

The bags were tampered with at the Cumberland Infirmary.

 A 24-year-old woman, from Wigton, has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice and appearing to contaminate goods.

 The saline solution bags in question were found by hospital staff on Wednesday 4th January 2017.

 Police will continue to work closely with the North Cumbria University Hospitals Trust as enquiries continue into this investigation.
