Car crashes into Muslims ‘She drove over them this woman is a criminal’

A crowd of people shout and scream at the woman who is suspected of crashing into 3 children and 3 adults.

Northumbria Police instantly deployed armed police to the scene, unclear of the circumstances surrounding the incident, They later confirmed it was not a terrorist incident.

Six people have been seriously hurt including three children, two of those children and one adult are currently in intensive care and fighting for their lives following the incident outside a sports centre in Newcastle.

During the video one man said ‘She was driving mad at the people’ The woman screams ‘i am the driver I am the driver’ while the same man screams ‘she drove at them she is a criminal she could have broken but she didn’t’

Instantly fearing it was a terror attack people within the crowd accuse her of pretending to be a Muslim, she is distressed and lashes out at members of the crowd showing no remorse for the people left seriously injured, A lone female police officer shouts stay there as she struggles on the ground, the crowd tell her to claim down and stay.

Emergency services responded to reports that a car had mounted a kerb and ploughed into a crowd of people

During the incident which unfolded the lady who has been arrested caused a scene and began arguing with those that rushed to help the injured before the crowd quickly started arguing with each other about the circumstances.

One lone female police officer was first on the scene to the incident and detained the suspect however due to the sheer amount of people arguing around her she required some urgent assistance.

The incident happened at Westgate Sports Centre where celebrations were taking place to mark the end of Ramadan, The incident is not terror related.

Northumbria Police have confirmed that two children and one adult have been critically injured when a 42-year-old woman who was celebrating Ramadan entered her car and the tragedy occurred.

An eyewitness has told Police Hour “The woman who was behind the wheel had been attending the celebrations to mark the end of Ramadan when she lost control of the car, this is a terrible accident”.

Northumbria Police has ensured that extra patrols are in the area today offering reassurance to communities.

Hundreds of people were at the event to mark the end of Ramadan.
