A man has been arrested after locking his partner in his car and slitting her throat sparking a major police incident.

Police quickly arrived and arrested the man who was seen covered in blood in what is being described as an isolated ‘domestic incident’.

The incident happened within the carpark of the Dockside Outlet Centre in Chatham police put a cordon in place while forensic officers examine the crime scene.

It is believed the man who has been arrested in 25-years-old and from the Medway Towns it is alleged he shut his partner in his car near to the Odeon Cinema before launching a violent and sustained attack on her.  A green tent was erected and Firefighters screened off the area

Due to the nature of the incident and the location of the incident people who parked their cars near to where the incident happened are being asked to be patient as they will not be able to access their cars for several hours.

Nearby Odeon cinema has provided free refreshments for people who have been stranded.
