Video: Fire breaks out at Rift House School in Hartlepool

Emergency Services responded to a Fire within the grounds of Rift House School in Hartlepool.

Police and Firefighters responded to the incident near Masefield Road in Hartlepool just after 6pm on Sunday 7th May.

Five fire appliances from Cleveland Fire responded ensuring the fire was quickly brought under control, A fire investigation will now be launched.

The school has confirmed they will be closed tomorrow to most students apart from Year Six students who are taught by Miss Wood. All other students are asked not to attend the school.

 

Cleveland Police confirmed they were on scene at Rift House Primary School in Hartlepool following reports, at around 6pm, of a fire at the school.

Confirming the fire had been extinguished, Police have a number of road closures in place.

Kipling Road junction with Masefield Road, Catcote Road junction with Masefield Road and Chesterton Road junction with Walpole Road.

Police would like to thank nearby residents and motorists for their patience and cooperation at this time.

Cleveland Fire has told Police Hour that they attended the school following reports of a Large blaze within Rift House School in Hartlepool.

6 Fire Appliances responded to the incident along with an incident command unit and two senior officers.

An investigation into the cause of the blaze will take place. Anyone with information is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101.
